AYURVEDA

Ayurveda is the traditional health system of India. Recognized by the WHO, Ayurveda views each individual as a unique mind-body combination of five elements:

Space, Air,Fire, Water and Earth.

These elements are expressed as three constitutions or Doshas,

VATA, responsible for movement.

PITTA, responsible for transformation.

KAPHA, responsible for cohesion.

When these doshas become imbalanced, they disrupt the healthy functioning of the mind and body, reducing not only health and energy but also happiness.

Ayurveda believes that most illnesses have their origin in the digestive tract and that prevention and treatment begin with an evaluation of digestive function according to the three main life-principles, Vata, Pitta and Kapha. By treating these energies through diet, lifestyle and digestive spices, the organism will begin to return to balance and stay healthier. Ayurveda views health as optimum fulfillment and happiness not simply the absence of illness and so can be used to maintain and improve health and empower the individual in understanding their own nature and the principle of cause and effect in their own lives.

Lifestyle & Nutritional Therapy seeks to;

Reduce excess Dosha

Balance digestive function

Remove toxic waste from the body.

All treatment involves consultation with each individual to determine your metabolic constitution and any imbalance that may be present. Together we seek to establish how your lifestyle and diet may contribute to your current state of health and introduce incremental and feasible changes, that will empower you in understanding your own nature and how you may recover and maintain balance.

In addition to lifestyle,diet and digestive spices, exercise, relaxation, yoga and massage or other non-invasive physical therapies may also from part of treatment, where appropriate.

What you may expect;

An initial consultation of 1 1/2 hrs. will diagnose your constitution and any imbalance that may be present. We will then discuss an appropriate treatment approach for you and you will depart with some general lifestyle and diet advice and possibly with some digestive herbs or relaxation/ yoga practices, where appropriate,to support you. Massage or other treatments may also be recommended.

For specific conditions this is generally followed up by 2-3 follow up meetings to see how you respond to the treatment plan and to make any adjustments necessary or to deepen and make the treatment more specific. After this it is recommended to return 3-4 times per year to allow for seasonal adjustments and to maintain health or progress.

This is a general guideline, which is also adapted to suit each person and their needs in accordance with the principles of Ayurveda.

Initial Consultation €60

Follow-up €45
